Occasionally, older dogs that were not raised with Viand premium dog food prefer a slightly different diet. Therefore, we designed Viand Lite, which incorporates all of the same vital elements as Viand, but in different proportions. This results in a lower calorie count with all of the nutritional benefits as Viand! This all natural dog food is nutrient rich and has no artificial flavors, colors or fillers. Viand doesn't believe in age specific or breed specific foods. We create a high quality, dog food product that any breed can enjoy at any stage of life!
Feed one cup of Viand Lite for every 35-40 lbs of animal weight PER DAY is recommended. As this can vary depending on activity and other factors. Please remember that much older dogs will tend to eat less or sometimes even want more so keep an eye on their stool. You want nicely formed stool and if it tends to seem loose cut back on the quantity of food. It is desirable that you keep them on the thinner side as that will tend to allow them to be more flexible in their senior years.
This 18 lb. bag consists of approx. 80 cups. That's enough food to feed a 75 pound dog for 40 days when fed this diet exclusively. Viand focuses on quality, not quantity!

My 11 year old has been on Viand foods all his life. I tried another “healthy” kibble food I could get locally and he lost a large strip of fur down his back. The vet told me it was skin allergy and the loss of fur was from itching. It wasn’t a spot he could reach if he tried. I got him back on viand pet food and it took 8 months for the fur to grow back but it did. I will never switch his kibble food again. I supplement with raw meat. He is a healthy boy!!!

I am still in the process of switching over. I have 11 senior cats. Not all of them ready. The 4 dogs are still adjusting but it is looking good. Wondering how far a bag will go for 11 cats.
